Once upon a time…. Gee, this sounds like the start of a fairy tale! During the odd quiet period on night shift while working for the newly formed Australian Protective Service in the late 1980s and early 90s I jotted down the beginnings of a story. Back in the dim dark ages of film and early digital photography, I used to enjoy taking the camera along to my daughter’s games and blaze away. Sharing whatever shots were ok with her teammates and the club. But as my gear aged, and I became time and cash poor, this fell away. After completing a workshop several months ago, I decided to take the new camera to a game and see if I could drive it. When you pick up a pen and start jotting down ideas, you never quite know where it will take you, or at least I don’t. Sometimes I’ll see something in the media, remember something from my past, or be mindlessly watching YouTube and my brain will start ticking over with possibilities.
